Wedding Photography

What Now?

So you’re wondering how you it all works, you’ve never been married and you’ve probably never booked a professional photographer. I can’t speak for everyone but I can certainly share with you my booking process.

Firstly you’ve been scouring the Internet and magazines for a photographer. You know your wedding photographer is super important. It isn’t often that all of your friends and family are together and you want photos that justify your memories. My advice is to book someone who your gut feeling likes. Choose someone who’s work you love. If you like them, and their work, then you will be onto a winner.

Contact Me

Let’s say you found me and you LOVE my website, my photos make you smile and your heart flutters and from reading my wedding and about me pages you want to know if I’m available. Some people get in touch before they book their date but mostly people have a date in mind. Email me at [email protected]. Tell me what you’re planning and tell me more about you. I’d really love to hear more about your love story!

Let’s Meet!

I will email you back within 48 hours with an answer on my availability and explain my next steps to booking. I will send you a questionnaire in order to get those tiny details from you and your fiancé! From there, I hope to set up a day and time where we can get together over coffee or a beer! We can get to know each other face to face and talk about your big day!

If having me as your photographer fills you with excitement and you want me, then tell me and we will arrange the next step! During our first sit down, some brides want to book then and there. We can absolutely do so! I will have a contract with me that I will give to you and your fiancé that you can read over. I do require a non-refundable retainer of 50% of your total cost that will be due the day your contract is signed. This will secure your date. The final payment will be due one month prior to your date. I accept cash or check.

If you’d like to take home the contract before you make your decision, you may do so! I will put a soft ten day hold on your date so if someone inquires about your date, you have time to make the decision before your date is taken.

Engagement Photos

Over the next couple of months we will book in your engagement shoot.

I usually do these any day of the week during “golden hour.” “Golden hour” is the two hours before it gets dark or at 7am in the morning as these are the best time for light. I suggest planning for two different outfits. That way you have a variety! The session will last an hour. The location can be anywhere within 20 miles of the Denver Metro Area. If it is outside this area, a travel charge will be applied. I love when my clients choose their location for their shoot. Picking a place with some significance to your relationship always makes it more special. I also have several beautiful locations to choose from!

Outfit Inspiration

Outfits for your engagement session can be tricky! I find that if you choose a couple of colors and build your outfits from there, it can be helpful! Soft colors like pastels photograph best. Keep logos, bold colors, and big patterns in the closet. Here is my Pinterest board to give you some inspiration!

Your Wedding Day Timeline

When your wedding gets closer, we will sit down again together and go over the custom timeline I’ve built for you. We want the day to go smoothly and stress-free, so we will make sure your timeline is perfect! I will also send you a family photo shot list so family photos can go quickly and efficiently. I like to know the names of your family so I can call them by name during the process!

After Your Big Day

When I get home, I back up all my memory cards and then back them up again! I am extremely aware of how precious these photos are and I do everything in my power to make sure they are safe.

Two weeks post wedding, I will put up a blog post of your day on my website! I like to give you a good sneak peek of your images while you wait for me to edit the hole bunch! So please share your blog post and tag me in it! My editing process takes anywhere from two-three months. The reason: I am a control freak! I take care of each photo individually to bring out the personality in each image. I do not send your images to a company to outsource my editing. I edit them myself!

Tag Me!

I appreciate your willingness to share my images, so please, let your friends and family know who took them! I love becoming Facebook friends with my couples so please do friend me! If you’re a Facebook user I would love it if you would ‘like’ my page, I’d love to see you there! https://www.facebook.com/maribethphotography. I also have an Instagram @maribethphotography

Your Photos are Ready

When your photos are all edited and ready for you, I will send you a link to view your images on a personalized online gallery! Please send this gallery to your family and friends so they can view and order the images for their homes.

Once I send you your online viewing gallery, I will then head to the post office to mail your custom USB drive with all of your high resolution images along with a personal print release form. These images are yours to print wherever you wish! If you have a package that includes an album, I will have you pick your favorite images and I will create your album!

I really hope this has helped you in one way or another! If you’re still looking for a photographer for your wedding, I'd love to hear from you!
